Gina Aliotti began her figure contest efforts in 2004, and earned pro status with a height class victory at the 2005 NPC USA. Showing beautiful muscle shapes that accentuate her overall structural lines, she made her pro debut at the 2006 Colorado Pro contest. The 2007 season was noteworthy when Gina added a sixth-place finish at the Figure. International, victories at the Tournament of Champions and Palm Beach Pro, and a stellar runner-up finish at the Ms. Olympia. This year, Gina has her sights set on improving her 2007 placing at the Figure International, and establishing herself as a front-runner in the race for the Ms. Olympia title.
The 2008 Ms. International will be Yaxeni Oriquen’s 38th pro contest in a career where she debuted in 1994. Now in her 15th year as an IFBB pro, the majestic Venezuelan has literally done it all. A 2005 Ms. Olympia winner, as well as a winner of the Ms. International in 2002, 2003, and 2005, she is one of only three women who have won the Ms. International and Ms. Olympia in the same calendar year. Yaxeni has also been a two-time champion at the GNC Show of Strength, as well as the 2004 Night of Champions winner. Entering her 11th consecutive Ms. International, Yaxeni is hoping to become the first four-time winner – an accomplishment Iris Kyle will also be chasing.
I am on my way to the Women’s Finals at the Arnold Classic 2008, which start in 53 minutes. Already have seen so many old and good friends. Good to be back in Columbus.
