Waverley mother of two and bodybuilder Esther Marson captured first-place honours in the Lightweight Division at a bodybuilding competition, held recently at York University. She also captured a third-place trophy in the Masters Division. She has been invited to compete at another elite competition, scheduled for November in Hamilton.
“Well, it was a very long, hard winter and I spent most of it preparing for my first competition for 2008,” Marson told Simcoe.com
The sport of bodybuilding continues to grow across Canada and the number of events being held continues to grow.

Danielle Reardon goes through her posing routine for judges during the Mr. and Miss Wesley Chapel High School Bodybuilding Contest Wednesday night. In the end, Reardon took one of the top female trophies.
“There were 20 male contestants and 13 female contestants vying for the coveted Mr. and Ms. Wesley Chapel titles and the large trophies that went with them.
Perhaps the least intimidated contestant was senior Danielle Reardon, who took home her second straight Ms. Wesley Chapel title. Reardon, a cheerleader and female weightlifter, showed plenty of poise and some strength and flexing moves that might have won her an adult female figure contest as well.”
Competing under the name of Lyen Wong, she placed second in the 2007 N.A.C. Universe Championship 2007 in Hamburg, Germany. Her diverse Wikipedia entry caught our attention here:

We found Elizabeth’s Facebook profile and our further research tells us this Bronx, New York native placed Second last week in the New York Metropolitan Class A Figure Competition
If you are in the Morgantown, WV area, be sure to take in the Eastern USA Bodybuilding Championships being held on April 19th. Competing will be Men, Women, GrandMasters Men, Masters Men, Novice Men, and Junior Men (ages 16-23)
