On Saturday, October 2, 1999 in Secaucus, New Jersey, Kenny Kassel, of Beauti-Fit Talent Agency, and Bob Bonham, owner of Strong and Shapely Gym in East Rutherford, New Jersey, presented the 1999 WOMEN'S EXTRAVAGANZA.

5 mega events took place: NPC Open Bodybuilding, Fitness Strength, Fitness Championships, IFBB Pro Bodybuilding and the addition of the 1999 Ms. Olympia. It was a site to behold of the feminine talent that exists in the fitness and bodybuilding world today. Women from all over the country and outside the U.S. competed in these awesome events. Read on and view what we saw firsthand from Pam McHenry-Prete, our special commentator at the 1999 Women's Extravaganza.

OPEN LIGHTWEIGHT AND MASTERS:

It's a total inspiration to see women in fit condition. It's even more inspiring when they are over 35 years old! Karen Romer, a 45 year old who trains cadets at Westpoint and 48 year old Angela Sales, of Newark, New Jersey competed with Angela capturing first place.

OPEN MIDDLEWEIGHT:

Up to 132 pounds for this event, Kerry Quinn showed the most muscularity followed by second place Elena Seiple. Third place went to New Yorker Trina Nunez, 28 years old, whose voluptuous physique was awarded "Best Novice."
