The first call out for Round I quarter turns was Laura Creavalle, Yaxeni Oriquen and Brenda Raganot. Then Cathy LaFrancois was called out with Betty Pariso and Yaxeni. Desiree Ellis, Cathy and Brenda was another call out with their muscular similarities. Round II is a pleasure to watch as the audience gets to compare the judges' call outs as they do the front double bicep, side chest, back double bicep and front abdominal thigh. The judges wanted to see Brenda, Laura and Yaxeni. Brenda packs a powerful punch in a little package to a tune of Fever. A Ms. O competitor since 1988, Laura Creavalle is a consummate performer who displays her physique to the utmost on stage. Ibero champion and runner-up Jan Tana competitor, Yaxeni Oriquen flexed to a playful salsa beat. Cathy Lafrancois performed to a partial tune of Joan Jett.
1999 MS. OLYMPIA
After three years as Ms. Olympia, Kim Chizevsky recaptured her title for the fourth consecutive year. Vickie Gates, fresh from her Ms. International victory this year, followed in second place. The experience of competition remains with the seasoned Laura Creavalle who has competed in many Ms. O's, this year with a third place finish. Lesa Lewis's routine was moving and grooving to all types of music, showing her versatile dancing moves. Yaxeni Oriquen, looking more symmetrical, is a natural doing her flexible splits. Gayle Moher, 1999 Jan Tana champion, performed to the Titanic theme song. Watching Tazzie Colomb, she owns the stage! Her incredible muscle development is a sight to see. The first call out was Kim Chizevsky, Vicki Gates and Lesa Lewis. Then Lesa, Laura Creavalle and Iris Kyle were compared. Lesa's big muscles fall into a symmetrical balance. Another call out was Brenda Raganot, whose back lat spread is quite amazing; Tazzie Colomb, whose incredible physique subtly changes toward physical perfection with competition; with Laura, one of the most talented pros in the sport. You can't beat a call out like the densely packed muscled physiques of Tazzie, Andrulla Blanchette and Laura Binetti.

n Saturday, October 2, 1999 in Secaucus, New Jersey, Kenny Kassel, of Beauti-Fit Talent Agency, and Bob Bonham, owner of Strong and Shapely Gym in East Rutherford, New Jersey, presented the 1999 WOMEN'S EXTRAVAGANZA.
5 mega events took place: NPC Open Bodybuilding, Fitness Strength, Fitness Championships, IFBB Pro Bodybuilding and the addition of the 1999 Ms. Olympia. It was a site to behold of the feminine talent that exists in the fitness and bodybuilding world today. Women from all over the country and outside the U.S. competed in these awesome events. Read on and view what we saw firsthand from Pam McHenry-Prete, our special commentator at the 1999 Women's Extravaganza.
It's a total inspiration to see women in fit condition. It's even more inspiring when they are over 35 years old! Karen Romer, a 45 year old who trains cadets at Westpoint and 48 year old Angela Sales, of Newark, New Jersey competed with Angela capturing first place.
Up to 132 pounds for this event, Kerry Quinn showed the most muscularity followed by second place Elena Seiple. Third place went to New Yorker Trina Nunez, 28 years old, whose voluptuous physique was awarded "Best Novice."
Overall winner Fran Ferraro, a trainer from Brooklyn, New York was well on her winning way to the Nationals in Orlando, Florida where she placed third. Fran's vascular and tightly muscled physique earned her first place, followed by Karen Gatto in second place.
Have these women got style, grace...and strength to match! Cynthia Bridges, from Simi Valley, California, defended her 1998 title. The competitors also had to curl 50 % of their bodyweight - Lindsay Mulinazzi curled 66 pounds for 59 repetitions and she also did the most one arm pushups - she finished second. Min Kim, who placed third, was the defending champion in the straddle hold, for over one minute. Darlina Karzoncic was fourth. Heather Lackner placed fifth and Jessica Bixler, a licensed practical nurse, finished sixth.
Lots of new talent is abounding in fitness and every competitor shows talent in her swimsuit and routine.
