Princess Diana of Wales was
born in 1961 Sandringham, Norfolk, England. Her name was originally Diana
Frances Spencer, before her marriage to Prince Charles of England, heir
to the British throne. They were married in Saint Paul’s cathedral in an
internationally televised ceremony on July 29th, 1981.
They had two sons, Princes William
and Harry.
By the late 1980’s, turmoil in the marriage was being widely
reported due to Charles’ long time affair with an older English noblewoman,
Camilla Parker Bowles. In December of 1992, Princess Diana had had enough
of his infidelity and callousness and the couple separated. Diana began
doing charity work to benefit homeless people and deprived children, drug
abuse and AIDS victims. She was the vice president of the British Red Cross
and served as an advisory board member of the International Red Cross starting
in 1994. Later on in her short life, she worked diligently for the cause
of banning landmines worldwide.
Diana died suddenly and tragically on the
streets of Paris in a terrible car crash initiated by a high speed pursuit
by motorcycle riding photographers. She was with her friend Dodi Al Fayad
who was also killed. The sole survivor was Diana’s British bodyguard. Millions
of dollars have been donated to her various causes since her untimely death.
Princess Diana was a very powerful woman.
She single handedly took on the royal family with her outspokenness and
rebellion. She did things her way! Diana displayed her own individuality
and style, becoming a well liked and sought after member of the international
celebrity jet set. Diana worked out hard and got into weightlifting. The
most photographed woman in the world, she was in great shape, tall, muscular
and admired throughout the world. If Diana had so desired, she would have
been a top fitness competitor and maybe even a natural bodybuilder! She
was definitely very tough and could have pinned almost any man with her
big blue eyes and statuesque muscular physique.
