The caption on this Flickr member photo reads: “A couple of days ago I noticed in the bathroom mirror that my biceps have become rather hench and muscly, or at least more than they used to be. If it carries on this way I’ll soon be playing women’s rugby and winning arm wrestles!”

Danielle Reardon goes through her posing routine for judges during the Mr. and Miss Wesley Chapel High School Bodybuilding Contest Wednesday night. In the end, Reardon took one of the top female trophies.

“There were 20 male contestants and 13 female contestants vying for the coveted Mr. and Ms. Wesley Chapel titles and the large trophies that went with them.

Perhaps the least intimidated contestant was senior Danielle Reardon, who took home her second straight Ms. Wesley Chapel title. Reardon, a cheerleader and female weightlifter, showed plenty of poise and some strength and flexing moves that might have won her an adult female figure contest as well.”

Lisa Leslie Biography

Source:The Acorn of Agoura Hills, California: “Women’s sports pioneer Lisa Leslie is more than just the first female to dunk a basketball- she’s a star off the court with prolific dealings in fashion, business and broadcasting.

“Don’t Let the Lipstick Fool You, the Making of a Champion” is a new hardcover by Kensington Books that chronicles the life and career of the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) star, and it’s written by Agoura Hills resident and award-winning sportscaster Larry Burnett.

Stardom didn’t come easily for Lisa Leslie, a three-time Olympic gold medalist and undeniably one of the best female athletes of all time. She grew up in South Central Los Angeles with a mother who drove a truck and a father she barely knew.

Timid, awkward and over 6 feet tall by the time she was in the sixth grade, Leslie struggled as a child. She turned to the basketball court as an outlet, and once scored 101 points in the first half of a high school game.

But Leslie learned she could be a force off the court as well. The greatest college player of her time while at the University of Southern California- and a groundbreaking star in the women’s pro game- Leslie also became a highly-paid model and let her tall, attractive frame prove that size counts for women, too.”

Nicole Grappling with Her Boyfriend, Part 1

Appears to be Cinéma vérité, this girlfriend boyfriend contest is fun to watch.

Can you name this female bodybuilder?

“It was while I was in college as a soccer player, that I first began lifting weights. All growing up I had a muscular build, although very skinny. In college I found I liked training and started the desire to be a bodybuilder. I wanted to look like Lenda Murray or Cory Everson. When I graduated and moved home, in 1997 I decided…time to do it kid! I started training and in 1999 I did my first NPC show, the WOMEN’s EXTRAVEGANZA as a middleweight of about 124 pounds. I took second. The next day was the NPC East Coast where I again took second to Mona Caravetta who went on to take 6th the following week at the Nationals. However, I met a wonderful man that day, STEVE STONE, who to this day remains a friend. He took me aside and said, the reason you took second was because of this, this and this. I said “OK, I now know what to do for next year!” He said “NO, do it all this week and do the Eastern USA next week in NYC.” So, I did it. I did what he said, and came in to win not only my class, but also the overall. I was thrilled.”
