Roger Power Biography

With over 20 years of experience in sports and fitness, Roger Power owns and operates a personal training business in Hoboken, New Jersey, aptly named Powertrain. Certified by the American Council on Exercise, Roger provides one-on-one, holistic training, incorporating the mind, body and spirit. Sessions target strength training, aerobics, stretching, breathing, nutrition, goal-setting, injury-management, lifestyle incorporation, and focusing techniques.
Roger attended Moorestown High School in Moorestown, N.J. where he set numerous school and state records in swimming. In addition, he qualified for the Olympic trials in 1980 (the boycott year) for the 200-meter backstroke. He attended the University of Alabama on a swimming scholarship, and then he transferred to Rider University where he co-captained the swim team and won the most outstanding swimmer award at the East Coast Conference Swimming Championships in 1985.
In 1994, Roger competed in his first bodybuilding competition, the Natural Hercules, a drug-free contest, and won as a middleweight. Subsequently, Roger entered many more bodybuilding competitions with great success. In 1996, he placed fourth as a light heavyweight in the National Gym Association Proqualifier, and he placed second as a heavyweight in the New York State American Natural Physique and Power Conference. Currently, Roger is training for the National Physique Committee, which will take place later this year.
In addition to these accomplishments, Roger was featured in exercise magazines and lectured on health and fitness. He also appeared on the former Gordon Elliot talk show.
