Questions And Answers Bodybuilding And Fitness
What do you think of Liquid Creatine?

Question:What do you think of Liquid Creatine? Is it more effective than the powdered Creatine?

Answer: Creatine is unstable when left in liquid for a prolonged period of time. That's why you often see powdered Creatine in individual serving packets or at the bottom of plastic bottles with instructions to "add water and drink immediately."

I was at a convention in New York City a couple years ago and I confronted the owner of a large supplement company based out of the Northeastern US about this issue. His company had just come out with a liquid creatine drink and they had a cooler full of samples there, so I asked him about it point blank. He wouldn't give me a straight answer. "We think we have found a way to stabilize it," he mumbled. I kept badgering him, quoting how creatine breaks down into creatinine when left in liquid. Once again he just dodged the question, and then he conveniently dodged me. Just goes to show how certain unscrupulous supplement manufacturers will do anything they can get away with to make a fast buck.

Here's what nutrition expert and author Will Brink had to say about this subject:

"Some of the best scientists around who work with creatine have told me it will not remain stable in any liquids for any period of time, and they have tried like hell to make such a product. That does not mean some person some day may not come up with a way to keep creatine stable in a liquid or gel, but the tests I have seen so far showed all of the products tested across the board were low in creatine and high in Creatinine and other break down products, leading to one conclusion, which is: no one has figured it out yet."
